Typically, there are five significant losses in a motor: stator copper loss, rotor copper loss, core loss, friction-windage loss and stray losses. Among these five, the one which is least analyzed, yet very significant (about 15% of total losses of the motor) is the stray loss (SL).

In this webinar we discuss how stray losses in an induction machine can be modeled and how the models can be used to design efficient motors.
