Webinar: Improved Data Routing and Optimization for Large Satellite Constellation Designs

March 13 @ 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM

stk 2024r1 chains satellite constellation routing

In this upcoming webinar, learn how chains and constellation objects model groups of satellites or other space objects that operate together. You’ll understand how the constellation object represents a group of satellites or space vehicles that follow specific orbits and configurations.

Overview

In this webinar, you’ll learn how chains and constellation objects model groups of satellites or other space objects that operate together. Understand more about how the constellation object represents a group of satellites or space vehicles that follow specific orbits and configurations. At the same time, chains refer to a particular way of organizing these objects, often sequentially or interconnectedly. Further, chains help visualize and analyze the connections, communication paths, or dependencies between the objects in the constellation.

What you will learn

  • Leverage STK’s chains and constellation objects to construct and analyze complex data relay and multi-object connectivity paths
  • Introduce constraints such as min/max number of hops within the strands connecting source and target objects
  • Use metrics to qualify optimal paths such as total distance, total time, communications, and other calculations that STK  uses to qualify preferred connection paths
  • Analyze and optimize dynamically changing communications paths across segregated groups of objects, including satellite relay constellations, airborne networks, and ground-based assets, to provide end-to-end closed-link data connectivity
