This presentation will discuss how the use of Thermal Desktop and Ansys together can lead to early design evaluation and rapid design changes within complex systems. The strength of Thermal Desktop will be illustrated in examples ranging from large-scale LH2 storage, solar energy storage using phase change materials, turbomachinery, secondary flows, and pumped hydro storage solutions. With the suite of Ansys tools, our energy customers will continue to thrive in this ever-changing environment.
Presenter: Ian Pond
Ian Pond is a Senior Application Engineer within the New and Emerging Technologies (NE&T) ACE team. With over 6 years of experience, Ian specializes in thermal and fluid modeling across various applications. Prior to joining Ansys, he worked for Honeywell, Lockheed Martin, and Exa Corp. In these roles, he gained experience in cryogenic systems, spacecraft thermal/fluid analysis, vehicle external aerodynamics, and under-hood cooling. Ian is passionate about analysis and is driven to help customers solve their problems using Ansys’ suite of tools.
