Beyond The Hype
The USA has signaled its intention to take a lead in 6G with provisions in, among others, the $280bn CHIPS and Science act. Canada is also investing heavily to play a major role. While some of the technology directions for 6G are becoming clearer, reaching those aspirations through the 2020s will be demanding. Building sound commercial models for 6G and its related services is key to ensuring timely deployments and uptake, which will depend in turn on coordination with regulators and policymakers across multiple domains. We can learn from 5G but there’s more to be done.
So what do we need to do to get beyond the hype and be ready to deliver practical, effective solutions from day one?

Currently the largest structure (3.1 million square feet) in Washington, DC, the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center (RRB/ITC) is owned by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) and is operated by TCMA (A Drew Company). As the first and only federal building dedicated to both government and private use, it is mandated by Congress to bring together the country’s best public and private resources to create a national forum for the advancement of trade. Designated as the official World Trade Center, Washington, DC, the building houses a premier conference and event center, executive office space, retail and dining, and offers community entertainment and programming.
