Sr/Principal- Silicon Application Engineer

As an Alphawave Semi Post Si Applications Engineer, you are responsible for providing 1st line technical support to customers using our IPs . In this role, you will provide timely responses in supporting the customer’s silicon bring up. In addition, you will regularly engage with internal R&D team to satisfy the customer’s application and constantly improve the customer’s silicon bring up experience.
What You’ll Do
- You will provide first-line customer-facing post-silicon bring-up support
- Work closely with R&D and provide updates to PM when required
- Provide remote and onsite post-sale silicon bring up support to customers worldwide
- Provide pre-sales customer support for evaluations and demonstrations
- Perform silicon testing on customer-driven test cases
- Work with FW/HW/SW engineers to develop, test and verify FW and SW updates (ie. GUI, API, MATLAB)
- Work with internal teams to resolve customer silicon sightings
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s in computer science or Electrical/Computer Engineering or Engineering Science
- Strong programming skills in C/C++, scripting skills in Python, Tcl, Perl
It’d Be Amazing If You Had
- Experience working with PCIe and/or Ethernet SerDes specifications
- Experience working with lab equipment such as BERT, real-time scopes, sampling scopes, VNA, and/or protocol analyzers
- Experience with lab automation software such as Python and/or Labview
- Extensive working experience with one or more: firmware, low-level programming, optimizing embedded C code, hardware debug
- Knowledge of EDA tools, strong understanding of simulators.
- Masters/PhD in Computer Science or Electrical/Computer Engineering or Engineering Science
