Podcast EP361: An Overview of the AI Infra Summit with Ed Nelson
Daniel is joined by Ed Nelson, Strategy Director and Co-Founder of AI Infra Summit. He co-leads the production team and specializes in product strategy and management, keynote speaker acquisition and VIP network development. Ed started the summit in 2018 and has spent nearly ten years as part of the team building AI Infra Summit from a 300-attendee semiconductor summit into a full stack AI infra conference attracting over 8,000 attendees. He has confirmed keynote speakers including Jeff Dean, Andrew Ng, John Hennessy and Lip-Bu Tan.
Ed describes the incredible growth the conference has experienced. He explains that the AI Hardware Summit and the Edge AI Summit merged to create the AI Infra Summit last year. Attendance at the show has doubled from 4,000 last year to over 8,000 this year, and the number of sponsors has also increased from 150 last year to 250 this year. Ed explains that one of the things that makes this conference unique is its broad focus. Many events focus on the application layer, but the AI Infra Summit has a broad focus across the entire implementation stack. Beyond new applications, the conference addresses the issues associated with scaling and sustaining the underlying technology of AI.
The AI Infra Summit will be held September 15-17, 2026 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA. You can register for the conference here.
