JOB OVERVIEW
We seek a passionate engineer with in-depth knowledge of cameras to join our growing Alphacore’s team of innovative professionals. The successful candidate will have experience in design and implementation of high-speed video cameras, with hands-on knowledge of printed circuit board (PCB) hardware design and field programmable gate array (FPGA) coding and application. Alphacore is creating state-of-the-art imaging solutions for a range of imaging applications for conventional and radiation-hardened high-speed visible and infrared light camera markets. Responsibilities include the following:
· Architecture, specification, and development of high-speed camera systems
· Research and development for camera PCB components and systems
· Development of FPGA-based code to implement algorithms for image capture, data processing, and data transmission
· Design and construction of camera systems that balance cost and imaging performance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· Detailed knowledge of imaging sensor devices and applications
· Experience with developing and debugging FPGA code in Verilog and/or VHDL
· Familiarity with multiple families of FPGAs from leading vendors (e.g., Xilinx, Altera, Microsemi) and their development systems
· Experience in designing custom PCBs with Eagle or similar systems
· Experience with setting up, programming, and using laboratory instrumentation for PCB debug
· Experience with C/C++, Eagle, Verilog/VHDL, LabView
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· BS/MS in Electrical Engineering
· Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
· Track record of driving ideas from design through commercialization
· Enthusiastic about growing within start-up organizations
· Success in reaching aggressive goals as part of a small, dedicated team
ADDITIONAL BENEFICIAL EXPERIENCES
· Image sensor testing and test hardware development
· Scripting languages such as Python
· GUI development tools such as QT and TKinter
· Working with PCB vendors for fabrication and assembly services
· CMOS sensors and algorithms for sensor and optics processing
· Fiber optic, copper and wireless data interfaces suitable for camera systems
· Camera optics design and implementation
· Mixed-signal IC designs (amplifiers, data converters, chip interfaces)
· Radiation hardening and radiation qualification (system level, board level, chip level)
· Creation of engineering documentation and support of customer documentation
· Thermal analysis
