Applications Engineer (m/f/d) II

The Applications Engineer is responsible for leveraging expert-level engineering knowledge and relationships to support customer accounts with significant impact on software revenue, as well as for helping customers to solve complex engineering problems using ANSYS software products. This role provides technical pre-sales and post-sales support.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Excellent technical knowlege of the tool suite and their application on simulating physics, focusing to industry’s cutting edge designs
Executing all technical activities at both pre-sales and post-sales level, ranging from product presentations, evaluations to using the tools on real life designs
Understanding and analyzing field’s technical feedback, requirements and engineering workflows to address users’ needs and propose possible tools’ enhancements/fixes
Create elegant and useful solutions to solve complex problems by working across various teams and understanding the needs of our customers
Articulating ANSYS’ value proposition which may encompass its entire suite of products; recognizing differentiators and tailoring the value proposition pitch accordingly
Instruct training classes on the usage of ANSYS products
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with the emphasis on high-frequency electromagnetics, analog design or other technical discipline
A minimum of 3 years of experience in an engineering software environment
Understanding of Electromagnetic effect
Demonstrated use of Custom IC Design Platforms
Demonstrated use of Simulation tools
Demonstrated use of Linux environments
Logical problem-solving approach and the ability to clearly communicate the situation and proposed solution to the customer
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to facilitate and conduct webinars and presentations to customers
Possesses a professional attitude, strong organizational and follow up skills
Demonstrated skills in writing and presenting fluently in English
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
MS or PhD degree preferred
Knowledge of SoC IC level Electromagnetic Phenomena
RF or Analog Mixed Signal design experience
Demonstrated use of Electromagnetic analysis tool
Demonstrated use of back-end, LVS and Parasitic Extraction tools
Familiarity of Process Development Kits, multiple foundries and advanced technologies
Must have passion and drive for personal technical excellence and high performance
Must have customer service aptitude and maintain customer focus
Ability to travel up to 25%
