Position Overview:
Siemens Mobility is seeking to fill an Overhaul Technician for our locomotive truck overhaul shop based in Lexington, NC. Technicians will work as part of small team responsible for the overhaul of locomotive trucks from our TSSSA customers. This position will report to the CS Production Manager. This is a 1st Shift position Monday – Friday 6am – 2:30pm.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Undertake all aspects of overhaul maintenance of Siemens locomotive trucks to meet the requirements of the production plan.
- Removal, inspection, and fitment of components in accordance with Siemens work instructions.
- Re-profiling of Train wheelsets when required using state-of-the-art wheel lathe machine.
- Use pressure washer to pre clean components prior to inspection.
- Safe movement of locomotive trucks using overhead cranes and lifting devices.
- Assist warehouse team to collect spares and materials from stores.
- Workshop husbandry and other tasks as required/directed by Management, Supervisors, and Lead Technicians.
To thrive in this role, you have:
- High School Diploma / GED.
- 2+ years relevant experience within a predominately mechanical environment
- Experience in documenting actions and operations accurately
- Good knowledge and understanding of tool control, torque wrenches, measuring equipment, and PPE as appropriate
- Ability to understand and interpret relevant technical drawings and publications
- Ability to produce detailed technical reports
- Well demonstrated verbal and written communication skills in English
- Setting you apart from others would be railroad or overhaul experience as well as crane / forklift experience
