Podcast EP370: An Overview of PDF Solution’s New AI Platform and Upcoming CONNECT Event with Kimon W. Michaels
Daniel is joined by Kimon W. Michaels, a prominent figure in the semiconductor industry, currently serving as the Executive Vice President of Products and Solutions at PDF Solutions, Inc. He co-founded the company and has held various leadership roles, including Vice President of Design for Manufacturability since June 2007. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Field Operations for Manufacturing Process Solutions from January 2006 to May 2007.
Daniel explores the increasing impact of PDF Solutions across the industry with Kimon, who explains that the company is about to become 35 years old. Kimon describes the evolution of the company’s platform, starting with the first generation, which was worksheet-based. He explains that the second generation was template-based and added scripting. The recently announced Exensio® Aurora capability represents the third generation. It focuses on AI that is purpose-built to handle semiconductor manufacturing data at petabyte scale and to securely deploy agentic AI across manufacturing operations and the supply chain.
Kimon describes the capabilities and impact this new platform will deliver across the semiconductor supply chain, increasing PDF’s ability to analyze extensive product and manufacturing data to optimize yield and performance. Daniel also discusses PDF’s upcoming yearly conference with Kimon. Called PDF Solutions CONNECT, the event will be held October 15 and 16 in San Francisco, CA.
