This is a side of the business that I dont understand, what us the below describing and at what point would they come into the production process?

" The 73,000 sq m facility in Tampines is designed to manufacture semiconductor chiplet interconnections that can be applied in areas such as artificial intelligence, electric vehicles, and wearables

They are also saying the usual stuff with respect to Singapore

"Chief executive officer and founder Han Byung Joon said on Thursday that the start-up built its factory here due to Singapore’s reputation as a global innovation hub and its skilled workforce"

The majority employed will be foreigners as semicon is not a popular career for Singaporeans

A start-up building a $2B facility seems crazy. "Silicon Box was created by the founders of U.S chipmaker Marvell (MRVL.O), Sehat Sutardja and wife Weili Dai, along with current CEO BJ Han."

The Govt giving them plenty of help for the startup , was just wondering what it is they actually do.

Silicon Box’s proprietary fabrication method offers design flexibility and exceptional electrical performance at a lower cost and power consumption. The company has developed the shortest interconnections using sub-5-micron technology, setting a new standard in semiconductor design cycles. This allows for efficient scaling of chiplet-based solutions across the semiconductor value chain.

The benefits of Silicon Box’s technology include cost-savings, better electrical performance, quicker scaling of chiplet-based solutions, and optimized power consumption and higher performance. Chip designers can achieve double computing performance at a fraction of the cost compared to traditional approaches. This opens up new possibilities for enhancing the performance optimization of modular functional units.

The new factory also prioritizes ESG-conscious practices and resource efficiency. It features a reverse osmosis de-ionized water filtration system for manufacturing processes and a wastewater treatment facility that recycles and reuses 50% of post-manufacturing wastewater. The facility also incorporates energy-efficient measures such as multi-grid voltage systems, solar panels, and energy-efficient window glass and insulation.
