Position Summary:
We are looking for strategic, highly motivated thought leader who brings hands on sales engineering leadership experience to lead a team of talented solution consultants across a suite of open source technologies. The Sr Manager Sales Engineering-Open Logic will be responsible for managing the technical sales process around the complete open source support and consulting solutions; focusing directly on enterprise customers and strategic partners. The ideal candidate  will bring an entrepreneurial mindset and will be responsible for driving partner and customer engagements.

OpenLogic provides enterprise services for hundreds of open source projects, including OpenJDK, Kubernetes, CentOS, and MariaDB. With OpenLogic, teams boost efficiency and reduce risk.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Sales Executives and Account Management to understand business opportunities with customers and partners
  • Clearly understand customer goals and challenges, map solutions and services to customer needs
  • Provide on-going technical support to strategic partners conducting architecture assessments and open source strategy evaluations.
  • Mentor the solutions engineering team by providing hands-on technical guidance for positioning, messaging and building comprehensive enterprise open source solutions
  • Document and communicate product feedback, new requirements, and competitive intelligence to product management
  • Present and speak at conferences, seminars and webinars
  • Maintain strong technical and consultative relationships with strategic customers and partners.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain top talent by providing career development and performance management coaching
  • Grow the team’s consultative capability to identify customer’s problems, how they relate to their overall business challenges, and drive meaningful business led outcomes
  • Adopt technical sales processes and methodologies to ensure scalability and excellence across the team
  • Up to 50% travel is required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or related field required.
  • 10+ years of experience in a pre-sales engineer or consultant role
  • 5+ years formal SE leadership with a proven track record of success
  • Experience building and leading high performance SE teams in Open Source or Open Core technology software organizations
  • Experience working directly with channel sales and strategic partners
  • Consistent overachievement on Sales KPIs
  • Experience with Linux administration, containers and cloud environments.
  • Architecture level open source or open core software development, pre sales or consulting experience
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate at the CTO/CIO level
