Test Engineer – Automation

We are looking for a test engineer to join the Platforms team working on RISC-V platforms and be part of realizing a whole new paradigm in semiconductors and microprocessor design.

Codasip has a mixed capability team called the Platform Team (led by Liam Dillon), that develops hardware and software at the systems level. These platforms are used to demonstrate our technology to customers and to help them to develop products prior to silicon production. They are also used internally to explore novel hardware architectures and validate developed IP. The Platform Team now requires a test engineer with experience of delivering products to customers and identifying and implementing process improvements.

The role will involve management of the release process, system testing, implementing new software tests, and increasing automation in our CI/CD pipeline.

The scope of the work is broad, varied, and technically challenging and will include working on projects including:

• Ensuring the quality of Codasip’s hardware and software deliveries, with a focus on the validation of hardware components with embedded software tests
• Contributing to the development of our existing embedded software bare metal libraries and demos.
• Work on automation scripting to reduce test time and parallelize test execution
• Assist in the integration of Third-party IP (TPIP) into our platform designs.
• Supporting bring-up of Codasip IP.

The role demands a detailed and systematic approach to our releases mainly consistency and systematic approach. You will be working on both short-term customer-driven projects, as well as longer-term strategic automation improvements.

You will act as a technical expert within the company and will be expected to contribute expert advice to both internal and external customers and ensure an excellent customer experience.

Main responsibilities include:

• Testing and release of the latest Codasip RISC-V Platforms
• Creating new test cases and infrastructure including automation
•  Ensuring the on-time delivery of our platforms

The core skills and competencies:

• A minimum of 3 years experience of systems-level software testing or development
• A passion for the delivery of high-quality products and attention to detail
• C programming experience
• Python or other similar scripting language
• A flexible and adaptable attitude to work

The following skills and experience are highly desirable:

• Experience developing under Linux and software tool chains
• Experience of working in a mixed hardware and software environment
• Experience of system bring-up and debug (FPGA or ASIC)
• The ability to communicate effectively at the technical level
• Customer-facing experience
