The Future is Apple's to Loose

The key to Apple's future is to build an ecosystem that relies on hardware advances only it has and to keep advancing this strategy using Andy Grove's philosophy only the paranoid survive. Crossbar memory or something similar is only one possibility to build upon. Medical readings using the camera in combination with a touch screen, also offer possibilities. Mems/sensor attachments that monitor body functions and can do actual tests offer a whole new frontier when combined with the ecosystem to support them. Applying creativity and innovation will be key. To just make a better smart phone with incremental improvements is to follow Motorola, Nokia and Blackberry. Combining a innovative mobile device and an innovative ecosystem that Apple can do is the only way to create a moat few others could even attempt to cross. It will take both for any number of companies can create one side, but very, very few have the heft and base to merge the device and ecosystem into one. Apple must abandon the idea of a phone and make it a mobile device that is part of a very large and versatile ecosystem. Add on attachments, software and hardware, will be key to this strategy and offer a large market in themselves, although many will be fractional to the entire ecosystem. Putting together the world's best supply chain system will be key and this is builds on Apple's strongest point.
