Consolidating Chip Industry - India story!

As a semiconductor professional I am excited to see Indian companies making news in the global Semiconductor business. India's two major semiconductor service providers entering the deal:

- ALTRAN Technologies acquires SiConTech
- Aricent buys SmartPlay

It will be interesting to see the game plan of other service providers in India. I hope the culture of incubating next gen product development/ IP development will lead the service providers to next level. Wish to see a India based IC/product company.

Other few mega deals which help shrink the semiconductor companies list and fewer jobs!
- Cypress Semiconductor's (CY) pursuit of Integrated Silicon Solution (ISSI)
- Avago Technologies (AVGO) deal of Broadcom (BRCM)
- Intel (INTC) in pursuit of Altera (ALTR)
- NXP Semiconductors (NXP) acquires Freescale Semiconductor (FSL)
- Rohm Semiconductor Acquires Powervation

Expecting few more acquisition/mergers in the horizon!
