Eine wichtige Chipreihe wird der 64 Bit Atom x3 (SoFIA). Intel wird die Serie x3 C3000 als "ersten Integrated Comms SoC" mit integrierten Prozessoreinheiten und Modem in drei generellen Ausstattungsvarianten und vor allem für den Massenmarkt der sehr günstigen Einsteiger-Smartphones in den Emerging Markets anbieten. Die Preise für Mobilgeräte mit dem "kleinsten" Atom x3 reichen von weniger als 75 Euro (3G) für den Atom x3-C3130 bis rund 150 Euro (LTE) für den Atom x3-C3440.

Hinsichtlich der verbesserten 3D-Grafikleistung seiner Atom x7 Serie führt Intel einen Vergleich zum bisherigen Bay Trail-T Atom Z3795 Quadcore-Prozessor mit integrierter HD Graphics (Bay Trail, Gen7) an. Sowohl im GFXBench 2.7 (T-Rex HD, offscreen) als auch im 3DMark Ice Storm Unlimited soll der x7-Atom deutlich besser (2x, +50 %) abschneiden.

2X performance gain on graphics for Atom x7(cherry trail) is something eye balls cathing, isn't it?
Atom x3 (SoFia) is manufactured at 28nm (TSMC).
Bay Trail graphic performance was crappy, so 2X a crappy performance is probably still crap (a quite "old" 32bit 28nm Snapdragon 805 will surely outperform it, since it was more than twice as fast as Bay Trail).
 
Nearly all the benchmark codes were compiled with GNU toolchain, xcode or msvs. Intel compilers seemed to be too expensive for mobile developers previously.
However since HTML5 got finalized last Oct, Hybrid apps are coming compiled by Intel XDK, a free path to cross platform. In case majority of developers drop the native app and shift to HTML5 mining, ...
