Duties and Responsibilities

  • Proactively maintain and develop all Linux infrastructure technology to maintain a 24x7x365 uptime service
  • Engineering of systems administration-related solutions for various project and operational needs
  • Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments
  • Fault finding, analysis and of logging information for reporting of performance exceptions
  • Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning
  • Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on servers, workstations, and network hardware
  • Create and modify scripts or applications to perform tasks
  • Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment
  • Collaborate with other teams and team members to develop automation strategies and deployment processes.
  • Willingness to work occasionally out of hours or weekends when this will be required for critical incidents or planned maintenance.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Previous working experience as a Linux Administrator for 5 years
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar relevant degree
  • IN depth knowledge of Linux: RedHat, CentOS, Debian, etc.
  • Hands on experience with MySQL and/or MariaDB
  • Familiarity with VMWare and SAN management and concepts
  • Expert in Shell, Perl, and/or Python and automation scripting
  • Solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP
  • Additional Linux certifications (RHCT, RHCE and LPIC) will be considered an advantage.
  • Good experience in LDAP and Bluecoat.
  • Good knowledge on Puppet, Foreman and Ansible automation and CM tools
  • Solid understanding of Server hardware Storage
  • Ability to lead discussions on complex technical issues.
  • Good knowledge of the following Application Servers – DNS, DHCP, GDM, Apache Web Server
  • Good knowledge on HP and Dell remote management tools(VC,ILO.Hp one veiew etc)
  • Should have administration and best practice and architectural knowledge of Iplanet Directory server / Oracle directory server.
  • Good working knowledge of TFTP and PXE along with kick-start. Jumpstart knowledge is a nice to have.
  • Able to develop and maintain highly available services including Linux clustering and redundant web services
  • Develop and maintain detailed backup and recovery strategies for multiple systems including databases and file servers
  • Good experience of managing an Enterprise single sign-on technology.
  • Experience with Load Balancers like HA Proxy, Pulse Secure Traffic Manager
  • Excellent team working skills.
  • Capacity to work under pressure.

  • Experience and knowledge of Send mail
  • Excellent customer service attitude, written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact effectively with people at all levels
