CTO, Automotive, Industrial and Multi-markets (AIM)
The CTO, Automotive, Industrial and Multi-markets (AIM) will be the visionary, the technical conscience, and the industry luminary for the AIM, SBU, both internally and externally. This person will be a leader for GF in the industry and will be considered a sought-after industry SME, an active analyst and industry leader, and a trusted advisor to our customers. The CTO will also collaborate with our Senor Leadership Team (SLT), the Board of Directors (BoD), and will lead a team to quantify industry inflections to inform technology investment, and drive Market Requirements Definitions (MRD) to specify performance metrics for technology platforms.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Be the technical lead and spokesperson for the AIM SBU.
- Define differentiated technology platforms, features and IP/EDA roadmap with supporting ecosystem development tools and design libraries for GF solutions within SBU market segments.
- Lead a team for deep architectural and systems insights to quantify industry inflections to inform technology investment, to own customer engagement and market requirements definition (MRD), to specify performance metrics for technology platforms.
- Define, apportion, and own SBU R&D funding for platforms, features and IP, including heterogeneous integration/packaging. Owns technology competitive benchmarking for SBU, accountable for competitive advantage and R&D return.
- Own the definition of system level proof points to validate foundry technology, feature, and IP value proposition. Alignment and coordination of GF assets (enterprise-wide) to execute on proof point demonstrators – creation of cross functional teams including central engineering, EDA, FAE, technology development and test and measurement for system level performance validation.
- Positioning and competitive comparison against relevant industry standards.
- Customer and industry engagement for communication of results to demonstrate relevance.
- Define and engage with industry shapers/drivers at corporate level, identify strategic partnership and technology/services opportunities, build a CTO-CTO network. Solicit external/govt funding opportunities where appropriate to offset internal development spend.
- Technology conscience of the enterprise, industry luminary and visionary, SBU evangelist, sought after industry figure, active in business analyst and industry discussions, participates/leads industry standards and academic committees.
- Trusted advisor to the SLT and the BoD.
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Engineering, Information Technology, or other Technical Related Discipline
- 7 or More Years of Experience in one of the AIM’s market (Auto, Industrial, Multi-market).
- 7 or More Years of Experience as a CTO or similar preferred, ideally in a customer environment
- Experience translating customer requirements into real plans and roadmaps, partnering closely with R&D
- Ability to Travel as Needed
- Language Fluency – English (Written & Verbal)

- Strong tech domain knowledge and ability to convey depth of GF technologies
- High customer facing / customer ready approach and experience
- Prior experience working in a matrix environment
