Summary of Role:

GLOBALFOUNDRIES Fab10, the world leader in RF semiconductor manufacturing in Hopewell Junction, NY, is seeking Process Engineering Technicians. The individual selected for this position will be part of the Manufacturing organization with primary responsibilities focused on furnace process engineering. The Process Engineering tech works closely with Process Engineers, maintenance techs and manufacturing operators to develop robust, cost effective solutions consistent with the manufacturing tool set, and the manufacturing strategy.     

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, control, and qualify state of the art 300mm semiconductor equipment
  • React to tool alarms of furnace process equipment, and disposition wafers involved in alarms using defined procedures
  • Review Statistical Process Control charts for process quality and react to Out of Control conditions including defect troubleshooting
  • Perform visual inspections (quality check)
  • Recover from process and tool interruptions
  • Use standard software applications (MS Office, Google Apps, Agile PLM, Siview, WSPC)
  • Identify and address potential areas for improvement and optimize tool availability, cycle time, utilization and cost
  • Complete all required reporting and documentation
  • Understand and follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures and requirements
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications:  

  • Education: High School Degree (or equivalent)
  • Experience:  4-5 years of relevant experience
  • Fluent in English Language – written & verbal
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to perform shift work on a 12 hours per day or night shift schedule
  • Able to work in a cleanroom environment wearing required clean room clothing per semiconductor protocol/requirements
  • Ability to perform work in a standing position for majority of a 12 hour shift (excluding breaks)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of semiconductor processing and process equipment
  • Knowledge of semiconductor vertical or horizontal furnace processing
  • Ability to operate computer and system interface programs to ensure appropriate computing and analysis of production information
  • Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation
  • Demonstrated work performance in an environment requiring high level of attention to detail and timeliness
  • Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control methodologies & systems
  • Manufacturing operator, Equipment or process experience in semiconductor manufacturing
