IT Systems Administrator

Job Summary:

Our client in Normal, IL is looking for an IT Systems Administrator. This is a contract position.

What You Will Do:

• General Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless operation of IT systems.
  • SOP Documentation and architectural design for the team.
  • Capacity Planning for all the services listed above.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to system emergencies.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and recommend new technologies or practices to improve efficiency.
• Virtualization:
  • Design, implement, and manage virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere or Open Source Hypervisors (KVM).
  • Skillset to manage Hyper-Converge solution example VxRail, vSAN clusters.
  • Optimize virtual infrastructure for performance and scalability.
  • Troubleshoot virtualization issues and provide root cause analysis.
• SAN Fabric Storage Network:
  • Design, configure, and maintain SAN (Storage Area Network) fabric on Cisco MDS Switches.
  • Implement zoning, masking, and other SAN management practices.
  • Monitor SAN performance and troubleshoot storage-related issues.
• Backup & Storage:
  • Design and implement backup solutions for servers, virtual machines, and data.
  • Manage backup schedules, retention policies, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Perform regular backup tests and ensure data integrity.
  • Design and Implements File Services (NFS and SMB) solution.
• Rack Stack servers:
  • Install, configure, and maintain rack-mounted servers.
  • Manage server hardware, including upgrades and replacements.
  • Ensure server security and compliance with best practices.
• AWX Ansible:
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Ansible and AWX.
  • Develop Ansible playbooks and roles to automate routine tasks.
  • Integrate Ansible with other tools and systems for comprehensive automation.
• Kubernetes:
  • General Knowledge of the On-Prem Kubernetes platform.
  • Design & Build Physical Compute resources for the On-Prem Kubernetes platform.
