The candidate will join Synopsys’ EDA Group software R&D team developing and leading technical solutions for Advanced Package design automation.  This role is focused on physical design related to Multi-Die Systems.  This position provides an opportunity to demonstrate technical leadership and innovation while working as part of a global team that delivers market-changing EDA solutions to major technology companies around the world.

Responsibilities:

• Implement innovative software solutions focused on Advanced Package Design.  Provide technical leadership across a global team developing physical design automation.
• Evaluate customer and technology challenges and propose software and methodology solutions.
• Work across multiple teams and deliver software solutions that include physical floor planning, auto-routing, design rule checking and prep for manufacture.
• Write project specifications, implement high-level architectures, ensure quality of results and an effective test-driven development methodology.
• Evaluate and solve customer problems in a strategic and forward-looking manner.
• Work on successful deployment and maintenance of advanced Synopsys EDA products and solutions.
• Partner with Foundries and Assembly & Test companies to implement technologies that provide industry leading capabilities aligned to Advanced Packaging.

Key Qualifications: 

• Masters/Ph.D. in CS, EE, or related engineering field with 10+ years of software development experience
• Deep knowledge of Package design methodologies with 3+ years of experience.
• Expertise in C++, algorithm development and data structures
• Experience implementing physical layout solutions for Package Design
• Ability to expand existing software and execute new technology delivery against dynamic timelines.
• Proficiency in debugging and software management tools
• Excellent problem-solving skills.  Must be able to collaborate across multiple teams to achieve integrated multi-domain solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Linux, Tcl, Perl, or other scripting is required.

The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $133,000-$232,000. In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses. The actual compensation offered will be based on a number of job-related factors, including location, skills, experience, and education.
