Essential Functions/ Responsibilities:
- Develops project objectives by reviewing product scopes, conferring with management to modify technical targets to meet market needs for new RF connector & cable assembly designs.
- Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, assigning SIG RF personnel to phases and elements as necessary to meet project scope.
- Determines project schedule along with PM and larger project team by calculating time requirements, sequencing project tasks, owning SI/performance risk management, and resolving conflicts in a timely and tactical manner.
- Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions and tailoring strategy to pave the way for future design & development success of world-class RF products.
- Provide technical support to strategic new product roadmap discussions and existing product enhancements.
- Use expertise in mechanical engineering to:
- Assess and provide feedback on early connector & assembly concepts, including roadmap products, custom products (RSPs), & novel R&D concepts for next generation manufacturing technologies (glass-core, additive, etc.)
- Enhance design of system chassis for such applications as the next generation of Active Demonstrators, mechanical-only demo chassis for DesignCon, etc. as opportunities arise
Requirements:
- 7+ Years’ experience designing and developing high speed, RF, and microwave products.
- 3 – 5 Years’ experience in managing and leading engineers.
- Understanding of EM field and transmission line theories and how they apply to design.
- Use of commercial 3D field solvers (HFSS) to study electromagnetic effects is a MUST.
- Familiarity with high volume manufacturing methods & processes is a plus.
- Familiarity with PCB design manufacturing techniques.
- Must have a proven track record of successful design.
- Effectively communicate with multidisciplinary engineering groups & members of management.
- Must be able handle multiple projects simultaneously as priorities can change very quickly.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Phyics. or related field.
