Responsibilities

As part of the High Frequency Measurement Center of Excellent (COE) organization, you will be working with engineers around the world to create test and measurement products that delight our customers. You will be part of a development team responsible for the software deliverables needed to control and calibrate signal generators.

As a firmware engineer, you will focus on the design, development, and testing of software that controls the signal generator’s hardware. As a successful candidate, you will:

  •  Review and understand Customer Requirements
  • Review, created, or update Product Definitions
  • Participate in software scheduling and architectural design
  • Implement software that controls the hardware to generate signals
  • Lead/participate in design and code reviews
  • Work closely with QA and NPI engineers to ensure software meets quality standards
  • Properly document solutions
  • Attend and participate in project meetings
  • Stay current with evolution of software and measurement tools

Qualifications

This position requires access to certain goods, software, technology, or technical data subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations. Under these laws and regulations, U.S. persons (which includes U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees) working for Keysight can access export-controlled items without authorization from the U.S. government. For any individual who is not a U.S. person, Keysight may need authorization from the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Commerce, or other appropriate federal agency before the individual can access export-controlled items. Employment in this position for non-U.S. persons is contingent on Keysight’s ability to obtain any required government authorizations.

Required Skills and Experience

  • BS and 5+ years applicable experience required, or MS or PhD, in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience with high-level object-oriented programming languages such as C++ or C#
  • Demonstrated software development experience through entire project lifecycle
  • Experience completing integrated hardware & software systems or solutions
  • Experience working with cross functional teams located in diverse geographical areas.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership
  • Ability to lead and motivate team members
  • Ability to translate customer requirements through design and implementation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience with the Atlassian tool chain and Agile software development
  • Experience with Measurement instrumentation (Sources, Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, etc.)
  • Build automation skills including Jenkins integration, automated test integration and scripting
  • Experience with Linux
