Our IDE team is enhancing the frontend part of Codasip Studio and currently consists of 4 developers, led by Ed Butler. We’re embarking on the development of a new version of the desktop application, which will be based on Visual Studio Code. Additionally, based on client requirements, we’re preparing a cloud version that will use similar technology.

We’re striving to follow and implement modern trends and meet our clients’ needs. Hardware development has its specifics and differs from software development in some aspects, which will undoubtedly broaden your horizons. The IDE team meets several times a week at the office and would appreciate it if you could avail of the same opportunity.

We believe Codasip is the most innovative processor solutions company. We take pride in designing and developing cutting-edge, high-performance, and energy-efficient CPU cores from scratch, and our own automated proprietary tools to fully customize them. We give our customers a unique competitive advantage by empowering their system-on-chip developers to build the most innovative products. Our processor cores are based on the RISC-V open architecture. The potential for customizing RISC-V is unlocked with the Codasip Custom Compute approach: our unique architecture description language, CodAL, and the powerful automated processor design tool, Codasip Studio. These are at the heart of our unique and groundbreaking RISC-V processor solutions.

What awaits you here:

  • Active collaboration in advancing the GUI of our Codasip Studio.
  • Analysis and contribution to the design of possible solutions in line with the motto “work smart, not hard.”
  • Learning new technologies, tools, and approaches.
  • Responsibility for code quality: unit tests, component tests, integration tests, end-to-end tests.
  • Code reviews.
  • You’ll make full use of your English and can improve it through language courses.
  • Agile collaboration with a small team based in Brno (our IDE team currently uses the Scrumban methodology).

A unique advantage in our software development is the direct interaction we can have about new features or issues with our colleagues—internal customers—who are in the next office. This means quick and direct feedback. Subsequently, we also engage with external clients to find solutions tailored to their needs.

Technologies you’ll work with:

  • JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Platform Visual Studio Code, Node.js
  • GitLab for code versioning and CI
  • Development takes place in Linux or Windows (IDE is developed for Windows, Linux, and MacOS).
  • Occasional use of Python.
