We’re looking for an FPGA/Hardware Design Engineer to join us either in the Brno or Prague office.

Codasip has a mixed capability team called the Platform Team that develops hardware and software at the systems level. These platforms are used to demonstrate our technology to customers and to help them develop products prior to silicon production. They are also used internally to explore novel hardware architectures and validate developed IP. Platforms Team is working on RISC-V platforms and is part of realizing a whole new paradigm in semiconductors and microprocessor design

The role demands flexibility and lateral thinking. You will be working on both short-term customer-driven projects, as well as longer-term strategic Codasip products. The scope of the work is broad, varied, and technically challenging.

While Codasip is headquartered in Europe, our approach and culture are typical of Silicon Valley, meaning that we value prudent risk-taking and “out of the box” thinking.  We are a well-funded scaling-up company poised for dynamic growth based on our leading-edge product portfolio. RISC-V is a revolutionary technology in the semiconductor industry. This role will have a high impact and visibility in Codasip and in the growing RISC-V world.

The job duties consist of but are not limited to:

  • Contribute and responsible for the development of the RISC-V-based FPGA Platforms
  • FPGA System Integration, including synthesis and place and run
  • FPGA prototyping and bringing up of complete systems
  • IP peripheral design
  • Working closely with verification/validation and embedded software engineers to solve technical challenges

Requirements

The following skills are essential to perform the job duties:

  • At least 3 years Experience of FPGA development flows
  • Demonstrable experience in RTL design in either Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL
  • Prototyping or product experience using FPGAs
  • Pro-active problem solver, able to work individually or as a team member
  • Practical expertise in versioning tools (preferably git)
  • Ability to work with compiler/software components
  • Practical usage of Linux
  • Communicative English as English is the main language of Codasip

The following skills and experience are nice to have:

  • AMD-Xilinx FPGA experience
  • embedded software experience (C or Linux)
  • Experience with RISC-V processors
  • Active interest in the field and self-education
  • Knowledge of modern verification techniques
