Software Engineer Senior

Job Summary:

Our client in Waterloo, ON is looking for a Software Engineer Senior. This is a contract position.

What You Will Do:

The Atlassian Solution Engineer will be a key driver in EVDD business unit´s mission to create a seamless and scalable Atlassian ecosystem. This role demands a deep understanding of the Atlassian platform, particularly Jira, and a passion for developing innovative solutions using Forge. The ideal candidate possesses strong development skills, a knack for building efficient integrations, and a dedication to streamlining processes through automation.

Basics:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
• Strong understanding of Jira project management, workflows, and custom fields, issue security levels.
• Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, such as Agile and Scrum.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to train and support users on Jira and project management best practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• 3+ years of experience as a Jira administrator in an environment with +5000 users and +500 Projects.
• 1+ years of experience with Jira Service Management project configurations.
• Experience with Jira project automation to assist with Jira administration.
• Experience with Asset management (formerly known as Insight).
• Proficient in using Jira’s APIs and scripting capabilities.
• Experience with Python.
• Experience with Azure as Identity Manager.
• Experience integrating Jira with other tools and systems, such as Slack, Webex, TestRail, Confluence, Jama, GitHub.
• Hybrid position.

Preferred:

• Analytics Experience: Proven experience in data analysis and business intelligence with a strong understanding of data visualization techniques and reporting best practices.
• Familiar with both traditional and agile product management principles for planning and managing work.
• In-depth knowledge of the Atlassian ecosystem, particularly Jira, with demonstrable experience in extracting, manipulating, and analyzing Jira data.
• Prior experience working with BI Tools like Atlassian Analytics, Power BI, Tableau, and/or Qlik Sense.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear and concise insights.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Solutions Engieer Experience: Proven experience in developing and deploying Atlassian Forge apps with a strong understanding of app development best practices within the Atlassian ecosystem.
• Expertise in integrating Jira with various third-party tools demonstrating a deep understanding of APIs and integration frameworks.
• Strong proficiency in Jira automation with demonstrable experience in creating efficient and effective automation rules to optimize workflows.
• Hands-on experience configuring and managing Atlassian Compass ensuring optimal utilization of its features to streamline software development processes.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges within the Atlassian environment.
