AI Will be everywhere Arthur, especially on the edge. The cost will definitely come down. AI is a bubble right now (lots and lots of training), but when things calm down you will see some amazing things, absolutely.
While not quite a duopoly, Apple and Samsung have long been known to produce the most popular smartphones from a global perspective. Over the past years, however, Chinese tech companies have started catching up and, at times, even overtaking Apple's iPhone product lines.
Our chart based on data...
I was being sarcastic about it being the union's fault, I knew at least one person would blame TSMC and TBiggs did not disappoint. Equipment fails and this one failed during inspection. I'm sure they will get to the bottom of it but TSMC gets clicks so here we are...
Damn unsafe Unions! Tank malfunction. Aren't the Unions supposed to protect their workers? That is what Union dues are for? A simple inspection of the fuel tank would have prevented this. But of course TSMC will be blamed while the Unions sleep until noon. 😉...
“The cost is very high,” TSMC Senior Vice President Kevin Zhang said at a technology symposium in Amsterdam on Tuesday, referring to ASML’s latest system known as high-NA extreme ultraviolet. “I like the high-NA EUV’s capability, but I don’t like the sticker price.”
Zhang said the costs of...
Yes, I read that and assumed the same but at the TSMC Symposium I was told that was not the case. If so customers would not use the US fabs. But CC is right, each wafer agreement is negotiated independently and it is very confidential. I would not call it country specific pricing, it is customer...

I really don't think Intel will use TSMC after N3. Intel will have plenty of 18A capacity and yes Pat needs to fill the fabs that are financed. TSMC will want a premium for an Intel N2 wafer agreement so that will probably not happen.
That was fast, it was recorded yesterday. Not my favorite thing to do  and no I don't blink that much.
Not hard to figure out. I got married right after I started my first job in the semiconductor industry and this year is my 40th wedding anniversary.
TSMC has more than half of the current EUV systems in service. This was stated at the TSMC Symposium.
HNA-EUV is all about lowering production cost. At some point in time Intel will make cheaper wafers with HNA-EUV and that is a very important thing for Intel Foundry. It is hard for me to...
WASHINGTON, May 14 (Reuters) - U.S. President Joe Biden on Tuesday unveiled a bundle of steep tariff increases on an array of Chinese imports including electric vehicle (EV) batteries, computer chips and medical products, risking an election-year standoff with Beijing in a bid to woo voters who...
