What You’ll Do as a Frontend Team Manager at Arteris

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of software engineers responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of the graphical user interface (GUI) of the Magillem products (Magillem Connectivity and Magillem Registers). The candidate should combine strong technical expertise in UX/UI development and software architecture with proven leadership skills. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams (development, field application and product management teams) to deliver high-performance, scalable, and intuitive user experiences for advanced semiconductor design workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

    • Lead the architecture, design, and development of a complex, high-performance GUI for a professional EDA application
    • Ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance of the GUI framework
    • Drive adoption of modern UI/UX best practices while addressing the unique constraints of semiconductor design tools
    • Collaborate with backend teams to ensure seamless integration
    • Oversee code quality, design reviews, and adherence to engineering standards
    • Contribute technically when required (hands-on leadership expected)

Team Management

    • Manage and mentor a team of software engineers (junior to senior levels)
    • Define goals, conduct performance reviews, and support career development
    • Foster a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement
    • Plan and allocate team resources effectively to meet product milestones, in close collaboration with the project manager
    • Recruit and onboard new team members as needed

Project & Process Management

    • Manage and mentor a team of software engineers (junior to senior levels)
    • Define goals, conduct performance reviews, and support career development
    • Foster a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement
    • Plan and allocate team resources effectively to meet product milestones, in close collaboration with the project manager
    • Recruit and onboard new team members as needed

Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Partner with customer-facing teams to incorporate user feedback into product improvements
    • Support key customers when deep technical expertise is required

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience
  • 3+ years of experience managing or leading software engineering teams
  • Strong expertise in UX/UI development (using React, TypeScript or similar technologies)
  • Solid experience in UI test automation (using Playwright or similar frameworks)
  • Solid understanding of software architecture and design patterns
  • Experience with large-scale, complex desktop applications
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Fluent French and English

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Experience in semiconductor EDA tools or related domains (physical design, verification, simulation, IP integration, etc.)
  • Familiarity with performance optimization and visualization of large datasets.
  • Knowledge of graph visualization frameworks or rendering pipelines.
  • Experience working in distributed, global R&D organizations.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, or related field

Estimated Base Salary 

55,000 EUR to 70,000 EUR gross annually. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
