What You’ll Do as a Principal Software Engineer at Arteris
Join our innovative team and help shape the future of semiconductor technology, specifically system-on-chip (SoC) and chiplets. In this role, you will contribute to the graphical user interface of the Magillem products (Magillem Connectivity and Magillem Registers), collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive impact across cutting-edge products and solutions.
The successful candidate will define technical direction, design robust and scalable software architectures, and mentor engineering teams in applying software engineering best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
• Define the technical vision for the Front-end architecture of the Magillem products.
• Design scalable, maintainable and robust software architectures.
• Act as the technical authority for complex GUI development challenges.
• Promote software engineering best practices, architecture standards and code quality.
• Lead architecture reviews, design reviews and code reviews.
• Drive technology modernization initiatives and technical debt reduction.
• Contribute hands-on to the implementation of critical or strategic features when needed.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend their adoption when they provide business value.
Engineering Excellence & Mentoring
• Mentor software engineers and support their technical growth.
• Coach senior engineers and help develop future technical leaders.
• Promote best practices in software design, testing, performance and maintainability.
• Define engineering standards and ensure their consistent application.
• Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation and continuous improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Collaborate with Backend teams to design robust and efficient interfaces.
• Work closely with Product Management to translate product requirements into technical solutions.
• Partner with QA teams to continuously improve product quality.
• Provide technical expertise to Field Application Engineering and Customer Support teams for complex issues.
• Participate in technical decisions affecting multiple engineering teams.
What You Bring
• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Recognized expertise in modern Front-end development (React, TypeScript or equivalent technologies).
• Strong software architecture experience for complex systems.
• Extensive experience with large-scale desktop applications.
• Experience with UI test automation (Playwright or similar technologies).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and technical leadership abilities.
• Proven experience mentoring software engineers.
• Fluent French and English.
Bonus Points If You Have
• Experience with semiconductor EDA tools or related domains.
• Knowledge of graphics performance optimization, rendering technologies, and large-scale graph visualization.
• Experience defining and driving technical standards across an engineering organization.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, or related field
Estimated Base Salary
EUR 55 000 to EUR 70 000 annually. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
