Silicon Creations provides world-class IP for precision and general-purpose timing (PLLs and oscillators), high-performance multi-protocol, latency optimized and protocol-specific SerDes, high-speed I/Os, and accurate VT sensors. Applications include high-performance computing for AI, smart phones, wearables, consumer devices, network devices, automotive, IoT, and medical devices.

The majority of the world’s top 50 IC companies work with Silicon Creations. Over 2,000 chip designs contain the company’s IP, drawn from a portfolio of over 800 unique IP products. The company supports more than 150 production tape-outs annually and has worked with over 550 customers globally. Its IP is in mass production down to and including 2nm.

This year, Silicon Creations is celebrating its 20th anniversary since its founding in 2006. In the trailing 12 months alone, several Silicon Creations customers have moved to mass production with their TSMC 2nm IP.  Additionally, SerDes bookings have increased by more than 200% driven by a TSMC 3nm 32G multi-protocol design win, and nearly a dozen customers have adopted our new temperature (and voltage) sensor(s). General IP developments continue to grow not only in TSMC (GAAFET) advanced nodes but also in Samsung, Intel Foundry, and Rapidus.

Booth #942

This year at DAC, Silicon Creations will highlight:

  • Innovative temperature sensor IP available in TSMC 2nm through 28nm, with continued expansion to other nodes underway
  • PCIe, Ethernet, DisplayPort SerDes solutions
  • Die-to-die PLLs for UCIe PHYs from 2nm and above
  • Dynamic Frequency Scaling solutions with step times of < 1ns
  • Reference clock generator PLLs for 112/224G Ethernet and PCIe5/6/7 PHYs
  • All-digital loop control, jitter-optimized LC PLL, now available from 2nm (Samsung) and 3nm (TSMC, Intel) up to 22nm (GF)

Background

We have been working with Silicon Creations for 10 years and I can tell you that it has been a great experience. Silicon Creations is a privately held semiconductor intellectual property company founded in 2006 and headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, with engineering operations in Kraków, Poland. The company develops analog and mixed-signal IP used by chip designers to improve performance, reduce development risk, and shorten time to market. Its main products include phase-locked loops, oscillators, serializer-deserializer interfaces, and high-speed differential input/output technologies.

These components are essential building blocks in modern systems-on-chip because they control timing, generate stable clock signals, and enable rapid data communication between circuits. Silicon Creations’ technology supports process nodes ranging from mature 180-nanometer manufacturing to advanced 2-nanometer designs. Its IP has been used in AI accelerators, smartphones, wearable devices, processors, networking equipment, automobiles, medical electronics, Internet of Things products, and other consumer applications.

A major strength of Silicon Creations is its focus on reliable, silicon-proven designs that can be integrated across different foundries and manufacturing processes. The company is also known for close customer support and long-term industry partnerships. By supplying reusable and thoroughly tested semiconductor building blocks, Silicon Creations allows chip companies to concentrate on product innovation while avoiding the cost and complexity of developing every circuit internally. Its work therefore plays an important role in the global semiconductor ecosystem.
