Data Science Manager H/F

As a Data Science Manager, you will play a key role in leveraging data and digital models to accelerate innovation at Soitec. You will be responsible for structuring and optimizing analysis and simulation methodologies, bringing a data-driven approach to research and development projects. Your mission will be to strengthen and revolutionize the use of Data Science within the Innovation department.

Your main responsibilities:

Team Management and Coordination:

• Supervise and lead a team of data scientists and engineers specializing in data modeling and analysis.
• Ensure the interface between data science teams and innovation teams to guarantee the relevance and effectiveness of the work.
• Foster a culture of exploration, scientific rigor and technological innovation.

Development of Digital Models and Simulations:

• Supervise the execution of advanced simulations on specialized software (Comsol, Matlab, etc.).
• Optimize and adapt existing models according to the needs of research projects.
• Ensure the reliability and robustness of models through rigorous validation processes.

Design and Monitoring of Experimental Plans (DoE):

• Design experimental plans to optimize experimental processes and accelerate decision making.
• Apply advanced statistical methods to extract actionable insights.
• Support teams in interpreting results and improving experimental methodologies.

Data Analysis and Exploitation:

• Structure and exploit internal and external databases to support research work.
• Implement advanced analytical tools to improve understanding of the physical and technological phenomena studied.
• Develop analysis pipelines for effective knowledge capitalization.

Strategy and Technological Monitoring in AI:

• Identify opportunities for integrating artificial intelligence into modeling and experimentation processes.
• Collaborate with the Innovation teams to define an AI roadmap aligned with Soitec’s technological challenges.
• Ensure active monitoring of advances in Data Science and AI to propose innovative approaches adapted to the challenges of the sector.

• You have an engineering degree, Master’s or Doctorate in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field and
• 5 or more years of experience in data science, including significant experience in a management or technical leadership role.
• Prior experience in an R&D environment is strongly desired.

Technical skills sought:

• Excellent mastery of modeling tools.
• In-depth knowledge of machine learning, deep learning and advanced statistics techniques.
• Expertise in design of experiments (DoE) methods and experimental approaches.
• Skill in managing and manipulating large databases.

Strategy and Management:

• Demonstrated experience in project management and defining AI strategy for R&D projects.
• Excellent team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop the skills of employees.
• Strategic vision to identify and implement industry best practices.

Communication et Collaboration :

• Ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and popularize technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills, analytical rigor and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
