Senior DevOps Engineer (m/f/d)

Summary / Role Purpose  

The Senior DevOps Engineer (m/f/d) is responsible for the DevOps activities of one or more software products and supporting systems. In this role, the Senior DevOps Engineer (m/f/d) will use advanced technical and problem-solving skills to help the team tackle complex issues, satisfy customer requirements, and accomplish development objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

• Collaborates with others to brainstorm best techniques to resolve complex technological infrastructure, build or packaging problems
• Performs moderately complex debug and testing actions on code, processes, and deployments to identify ways to streamline execution and minimize errors encountered
• Responsibilities may involve build and packaging open-source third-party software packages
• Maintenance of tools, infrastructure and build environment for product creation staff
• Employs best practices and helps to maintain them through technical reviews

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience 

• BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 5 years’ experience, MS with 3 years’ experience, or PhD with 1 year experience
• At least 2 years of experience with source code version control software (git) and Azure DevOps

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Thorough knowledge of software development tools, compilers, and packaging software
• Extensive knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems
• Passion for crafting robust and efficient automated build systems (eg. ADO, Github, Jenkins; Cmake; BJam, Bazel for Python, C/C++ or equivalent; Docker or Kubernetes orchestration)

• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of software testing basics (i.e.: CI/CD, unit testing, blackbox testing, etc)

Remuneration

Salary according to collective bargaining agreement IT/ST2 of at least 3.730.00 gross monthly. Depending on qualification and professional experience we aim for an overpayment.
