Cybersecurity and IT Systems Administrators design, configure, administer, and support leading edge technology to ensure Siemens can continue to deliver high quality solutions and services to our customers.

  • This role supports the Siemens Smart Infrastructure Buildings U.S. business and reports to the director of Cybersecurity and IT Solutions and Services.
  • This role coordinates closely with and takes direction from the national Managed Services lead and the Portfolio Manager for Cybersecurity and IT solutions and services.
  • In this role, you will be a key technical expert and focuses on developing and maintaining the infrastructure, systems, applications, and processes needed to deliver Cybersecurity and IT solutions and services to Siemens’ customers.

As a Cybersecurity and IT Systems Administrator you will:

  • Design, configure, and deploy IT systems such as networking, compute, virtualization, and storage used to enable the delivery of both internal and customer-facing cybersecurity and IT capabilities.
  • Administer and maintain IT systems including monitoring performance, making changes to configuration, and troubleshooting issues on systems such as network switches, firewalls, hypervisors, and SAN/NAS storage devices.
  • Design, configure, and deploy cybersecurity and IT applications such as Remote Monitoring and Management tools (RMM), Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), End Point Detection and Response products (EDR), Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM), and backup solutions.
  • Administer and maintain cybersecurity and IT applications including, monitoring performance, maintaining user accounts and groups, configuring functionality, implementing integrations, and configuring databases
  • Deploy, configure, administer and maintain Windows-based server operating systems including imaging, configuration hardening, role administration (DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, etc.), monitoring performance and functionality, managing patching/updates, managing certificates, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Administer and maintain key infrastructure systems such as imaging servers and distribution methods, monitoring systems, and backup and restoration capabilities for both internal-use lab and production hosting environments.
  • Provide system and application support including managing and responding to issue reports, supporting stakeholders across teams, and collaborating to implement new functionality and capabilities.
  • Maintain physical co-location infrastructure and setup including coordinating with co-location provider, physical system maintenance, and cable management.
  • Design and implement automation solutions including scripting common tasks, customizing functionality (such as imaging task sequences), and developing system integrations.
  • Support development of API integrations including ensuring API connectivity, maintaining development environments, implementing security methods, and monitoring functionality.
  • Support the implementation of security controls including coordinating with cybersecurity teams, reviewing controls, implementing control measures, documenting control implementation, providing implementation evidence, hardening systems, and monitoring control efficacy.
  • Support the development and maintenance of productivity and functionality applications and solution built using low-code platforms such as Microsoft PowerApps, PowerAutomate, PowerBI, and Mendix.
  • Develop and maintain documentation including, network topologies, system design documents, configuration baselines, as-built documentation, and reference documentation.
  • Manage cybersecurity and IT assets including, tracking physicall assets, maintaining asset control, and reporting on asset lifecycle planning.

You will make an impact with these qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2-3+ years of experience with common cybersecurity technologies including, but not limited to; firewalls, IDS/IPS, HIDS/HIPS, EDR, vulnerability scanners, and SIEM
  • 2-3+ years of experience with common IT technologies including, but not limited to; switches, firewalls, routers, wireless APs, SFPs, structured cabling, hypervisors, and Windows OS
  • 2-3+ years of experience deploying and administering Windows Server OS environments including, but not limited to; configuring roles, administering move/add/change, working with certificates, and troubleshooting issues
  • 1-2+ years of experience with designing best-practice cybersecurity architectures including, but not limited to; trust boundary and segmentation design, DMZ designation, network tap and traffic collection
  • 1-2+ years of experience with designing best-practice IT architectures including, but not limited to: calculating port densities, determining PoE loads, selecting cabling types and layouts, designing TCP/IP subnetting and segmentation, vLAN organization, and selecting logical switching topologies
  • 1-2+ years of experience designing and deploying IT hardware systems such as networking, compute, and storage
  • 1-2+ years of experience working with Microsoft 365 related toolsets, such as SharePoint Online and PowerPlatform (PowerApps, PowerAutomate, PowerBI, etc.)
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity standards and industry best practices including, but not limited to; NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) Controls, CIS hardening guidelines and federal Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and controls.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills – ability to communicate effectively across teams and foster good working relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively organize and run both remote and in-person meetings, including, but not limited to: developing agendas, organizing topics, promoting participation, taking minutes, etc.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Familiarity with common Cybersecurity and IT design and execution tools such as Visio, Iris Intangi, and project management software
  • Experience in a customer service role and ability to effectively communicate technical topics to non-technical audiences

  • The pay range for this position is $82,320 – $141,120. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
