Within our Innovation Department, the “Collaboration Platforms” group maintains and develops collaborations with innovation platforms around the world, allowing the upstream identification of new opportunities, beyond known roadmaps.

What does the job consist?

The role will particularly address the Semiconductor Memory (stand-alone) field. As Technology Expert, you will lead a team effort to analyze industry technology trends on specific segments to identify new ideas and opportunities to intercept industrial roadmaps with Soitec’s technologies. In this role you will recommend strategy for Soitec technologies and influence at executive levels.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide competitive analysis of the technology landscape in the memory application space
  • Find growth opportunities for Soitec beyond what is already planned
  • Influences management to define Soitec’s innovation strategy
  • Provides scientific exposure at the international level and leverage international network
  • Develops new concepts and solutions to complex technical challenges
  • Provides guidance, coaching / mentoring and training to engineers.
  • Represent Soitec in establishing strategic collaborations with leading innovation
  • industrial partners (i.e. system companies, fabless, foundries, …)
  • Support Soitec’s roadmaps & work closely with the internal teams developing new products.
  • Identify and work with outside partners to gather market and technology intelligence and work closely with internal teams to share this new knowledge

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Engineering degree/Master in electrical engineering / physics / applied physics /similar quantitative fields (PhD is a plus)
  • 25+ years of engineering/R&D experience in the semiconductors and device fabrication technologies, especially in memory devices
  • Strong strategic thinking and leadership skills, with the ability to understand industry challenges and develop and implement a vision for the innovation
  • Knowledge and understanding of the latest developments and trends in the semiconductor industry and a passion for technology and innovation.
  • Excellent team spirit is required and ability to work transversally with teams around the globe
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Effective presenter and communicator with strong oral and written English abilities.
  • Able to lead in-depth technical discussions, ask questions and be a good listener.
  • Able to effectively position and present technology to different audiences.
  • Using your broad professional network (IEEE, etc…), you are able to capture key information and analyze the industrial technology roadmaps.
  • You are recognized for your outstanding communication skills, which allow you to create intimacy and credibility with external partners and internal decision makers.
  • Well organized and self-motivated, you are able to synthesize and restitute summarized information in a changing environment and fast-growing company.
