Job Description
This is an exciting position providing the opportunity to lead PCB bring up, functional validation, lab management, and measurements of reference and validation PCBs for state-of-the-art Achronix FPGAs. The successful candidate will join the Hardware Engineering group in Santa Clara, California, and should be self-driven, constantly looking to set the bar higher, and a driver of excellence. This is a hands-on position and requires availability in the office five days per week.
Responsibilities include the following:
- PCB bring-up for hardware validation
- Develop FPGA-based design test cases, configure the FPGA with test cases, run tests on silicon, and check vital parameters
- Debug system functionality issues in the lab
- Lab measurements for functional and electrical system debug
- Lab management including acquisition and setup of lab equipment, maintain lab inventory, manage lab equipment allocation, etc.
- Study standard specifications of PCIe/DDR/GDDR/JEDEC and verify the functionalities on hardware
- Provide feedback to the design team on electrical and functional issues
- Participate in team meetings and occasionally with global teams spanning Hardware, Systems, Software Product Planning and Application Engineering
Skills
- B.E. with Electronics/Electrical and 12+ years of overall experience or M.S. with 10+ years of experience
- Hands-on experience designing FPGA-based test cases
- Expertise in lab measurements and system-level debug
- Experience working with PCIe/DDR/Ethernet/GDDR6 protocols
- Experience with electrical test and characterization of silicon test chips in a laboratory environment
- Thorough knowledge of oscilloscopes and other lab equipment
- Understanding the chip, package, PCB design, and creating test plans for system validation accordingly
- Experience reviewing PCB schematics and layout of high-speed interfaces
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work and communicate with global teams

- Familiarity with power and signal integrity fundamentals
The compensation range for this position is $210,000–$230,000. Salary ranges dependent on experience and location.
