At Spirit Electronics our Lab Technician will work on a variety of industry-leading avionics from business, regional, and air-transport jet aircraft. This position will apply extensive electronics and mechanical theory to test, troubleshoot, and modify engineering prototypes and/or first article electronic equipment and parts.

 

Essential Job Functions

Performs precision testing and performs or supervises precision assembly of engineering equipment.
Assists engineers in the design, development, and evaluation of new products and recommends product improvements or manufacturing modifications.
Determines test methods, revises test equipment modifications, and evaluates product/equipment performance utilizing test results.
Participates as an engineering team member to determine requirement definitions and select solution methods.
Fabricates, assembles, calibrates, and tests electronics/mechanical equipment and components.
Maintains test/design activity documentation.
Selects optimum test procedure based on changing work priorities and differing work environments.
Interfaces with persons of substantially higher rank within Spirit on significant matters often requiring coordination of activity across organizational lines concerning engineering design, sales, production, and marketing.
Operate in accordance with business policies, procedures, and practices and in compliance with accepted business ethics.
Requirements

Typically requires AA/AS degree with a minimum 3+ years of relevant experience.
Debugging and testing digital, analog, and power supply circuits at a competent level.
Knowledge of the use of applicable test equipment.
Strong hands-on skills such as breadboarding, soldering, and circuit board repair and fabrication. Skill in the reading and layout of schematic drawings and the ability to translate them into printed wiring boards.
Product Test Requirement development and Qualification test support.
