Are you a talented UX designer seeking an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in the world of technology? We invite you to take on a pivotal role in shaping the user experience of cutting-edge Radio Frequency (RF) test instrument hardware and software applications. This is an on-site position. 

As a R&D UX Designer at Keysight, your key responsibilities will include:

  • UI Design: Creating UI designs, starting with early concepts and wireframes, followed by high-fidelity prototypes within a given framework and UI theming.
  • User Research: Conducting user research, persona development, mental model analysis, and task flow analysis to inform the design of new products.
  • Information Architecture: Designing UI navigation and information architecture, defining UI patterns, interactions, and UX writing to enhance usability.
  • Usability Enhancement: Designing for usability, making complex tasks and workflows more intuitive and efficient while meeting human factors, usability, and functional requirements, and adhering to visual design and UI standards.
  • Interactive Prototyping: Creating interactive UI prototypes for critical workflows to facilitate usability evaluations.
  • Iterative Design: Planning and conducting UI concept reviews, walkthroughs, and usability evaluations in an iterative design process.
  • Usability Testing: Planning and conducting usability tests and providing detailed reports with actionable recommendations.

Qualifications

We’re looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • a minimum of 3 to 5+ years of UX Design experience with a focus on user-centered design for complex products.
  • An aptitude for understanding customer use cases with leading-edge technology; experience in wireless or high-tech industries is a plus.
  • Knowledge of human information processing and user behavior, grounded in cognitive psychology and usability principles.
  • Experience in touch UI design for both software and hardware, with a working knowledge of ergonomics. Mobile app experience is desirable.
  • Demonstrated expertise in all aspects of user-centered design, including persona development, conceptual design, task flow analysis, UI architecture, global navigation, interaction design, iterative UI design, and formal usability testing.
  • Experience planning, leading, and coordinating UX design and usability activities at a project or program level.
  • A commitment to advocating for UX, influencing design for usability, and negotiating priorities within project constraints.
  • Proficiency with UI design wireframe and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Zeplin, Axure, Figma, or others.
  • The ability to plan and conduct usability evaluations and tests, and to provide reports with actionable recommendations.
  • A working knowledge of human factors, including design considerations for color vision impairments.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environment of agile software development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with domain experts, development teams, and stakeholders.
