Overview

The aim of this role is to lead the development of the next phase of Pragmatic Park. Critically, the essence of the role is the development and construction of the next two FlexLogic semiconductor production lines in the North East. The role will also encompass leading from a programme management perspective the construction of the Pragmatic Park Village and general site improvements. The essential element of the role is ensuring all these projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the correct quality (scope) and standards.

Key tasks

  • Manage the delivery, construction and installation of new production lines at our flagship manufacturing site
  • Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment
  • Advise at a strategic level at the project conception stage, including providing advice on the different approaches that can be adopted in order to achieve the overall objectives
  • Manage all aspects of project to ensure the overall programme is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives
  • Report on project success criteria results, metrics, test and deployment activities
  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment, demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence
  • Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organisation
  • Prepare a detailed project plan for all phases of the project
  • Manage the day-to-day project activities and resources, and chair the project management team meetings
  • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating effectively across leadership
  • Understand interdependencies between technology, operations and business needs
  • Demonstrate a financial acumen to support how solutions will address goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices
  • Manager project scope and changes
  • Participate in and/or drive feasibility studies, vendor selections and proposals for evaluation by appropriate key stakeholders
  • Act as an internal quality control check for the project
  • Develop and manage all aspects or project and programme engagement from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, budget, change, risks and issues
  • Set and continually manage project and programme expectations while delegating and managing deliverables with team members and stakeholders
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements, documentation and presentations to various audiences, including project team, sponsors, SLT and key stakeholders
  • Deliver appropriate and effective executive level communication
  • Ensure that project is proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget and quality standards.

Qualifications and training

  • Ideally degree educated in a relevant discipline for construction project management
  • Ideally professionally qualified in one of the following fields: Construction, Engineering, Project Management, Surveying or Architecture

Skills and experience

  • Excellent knowledge of construction industry technical matters such as procurement routes, value management and value engineering
  • Experience of leading project management commissions for medium to large sized construction projects of medium to high complexity
  • Experience of leading multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills with high level stakeholders
  • Driven to excel in a fast-paced environment in which it is essential to keep up to date with the rapidly developing trends of technology landscapes
  • Passionate about providing world-class project and programme delivery
  • Extensive project management skills and experience
  • Significant experience in a similar role
  • Strong experience in programme or project management and planning
  • Strong analytical capabilities and highly organised, with excellent relationship management skills
  • Cleanroom experience would be beneficial
