Overview

PragmatIC produce advanced, thin, flexible, microelectronic ICs using highly novel techniques and materials. We seek an engineer with strong experience of wet processing in high-technology thin-film manufacturing who can support and develop these process routes as they transition from R & D to mature mass-market manufacturing

Key tasks

The fabrication environment is high quality cleanroom. As well as having expertise in precision thin-film etching and resist-stripping, you will be expected to have experience of many of the processes used in a commercial micro-fabrication environment including: high-precision Photolithography; Plasma Etch; Plasma Cleaning; Sputter Deposition. The processing equipment is complex and automated- you should be familiar and confident in setting up and controlling such advanced tools.

In addition, it is important that you can demonstrate good knowledge of the inspection and test techniques that are required to analyse micro- and nano-scale devices. Such techniques might include microscopy (SEM, AFM, TEM), optical analysis (ellipsometry, spectroscopy), physical analysis (EDS, XPS, XRR) and electrical test methods (Hall, transfer curves, capacitance).

You must have a strong physical science or electrical/electronic engineering background, and enjoy the challenge of solving complex problems in a fast-moving high technology environment. A background in IC manufacturing/development would be beneficial, but we would also like to hear from you if you have experience in other high-technology industries, especially those in which thin-film technologies are widely used.
