Optical PCIe Product Development Engineer

Summary / Objective

• Develop a strong understanding of Samtec optical transceivers design and performance.
• Collaborate with vendors and standard bodies to develop industry leading knowledge on PCIe protocol at all layers.
• Benchmark PCIe product performance and create hardware and firmware test strategy for all lifecycle stages.
• Assist PCIe product strategy and roadmap with product management teams.
• Work with sales teams to help position PCIe products at customers.
• Create knowledge base and training for Samtec associates and customers.
• Support customer implementations from prototyping to bring up through onsite visits or recreating within Samtec.
• Create a strong network within Samtec customer and manufacturing teams.
• Work with customer quality teams to support root cause investigations and processes.
• ITAR: Must be able to legally work in the United States. Position requires the candidate to be a US Person as defined in ITAR, 22 CFR 120.15 (US Citizenship or Resident Alien Status) and defined by 8 USC 1101(a) (20)

Desired Skills / Experience

• MS or BS in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, with experience in PHY ICs / optical transceivers / low latency protocols
• Strong technical and verbal/written communication skills
• Product background including exposure to opto-mechanical and/or electrical design/development is preferred
