Responsibilities:

As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will work as part of a team responsible for building NetApp’s cutting-edge software defined storage solutions for major Cloud providers including AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP and IBM. As part of the Research & Development function, the group focusses on competitive market and customer requirements, technology advances, product quality, product cost and time-to-market. The software engineering team focusses on enhancements to existing products as well as new product development, focused on Cloud architecture.

•    Responsible for automating and testing software features for the product
•    Own the end to end test strategy for storage solutions for on-prem and cloud use
•    Participating in product/feature design brainstorming, to bring a test perspective to the technical discussion
•    Developing test plans, designing test automation including library and test script development to validate your code to meet an expected bar of quality
•    Collaborate with peers within the team as well as cross-functional partner teams to resolve technical dependencies and work on joint efforts to validate features
•    Responsible for unstructured tasks where the problem statements are less defined, thus requiring new perspectives, creative approaches and resolving interdependencies

Job Requirements

•    2+ years of strong software engineering background with hands-on programming experience in Python
•    Strong experience in developing test plans and testcase automation
•    Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment and demonstrate initiative in driving unstructured tasks
•    Strong aptitude for learning new technologies
•    Strong oral and written communication skills

 Bonus skills: 

•    Experience with Cloud technologies (GCP, Azure, AWS, IBM) with ability to triage and troubleshoot in such environments
•    Knowledge in virtualization, data storage or data management technologies
•    Have a proven understanding of system and networking concepts and troubleshooting techniques
•    Experience collaborating with cross-functional, global and remote teams with diverse backgrounds

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 2-3 years work experience, or no work experience with a Master’s degree.
