TSMC Arizona’s Quality & Reliability is responsible for incoming materials and final product quality, process and product qualification, and failure analysis. This role is focused on driving process and metrology tool matching, ensuring quality defense, and developing innovative measurement solutions. As a Metrology Process Engineer, you will play a critical role in enhancing Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems, improving data analysis methods, and optimizing key metrology tools to support manufacturing efficiency. Your contributions will directly impact operational excellence and product quality in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure Process & Tool Matching: Lead intra-fab and inter-fab process and metrology tool matching to ensure consistency and optimization across manufacturing facilities.
- Maintain Metrology Quality Standards: Develop and defend metrology quality, ensuring proficiency in tools such as Optimization of Critical Dimension (OCD), CD Measurement SEM, Overlay, and other metrology systems.
- Innovate Measurement Solutions: Create and deploy inline measurement solutions that improve production efficiency and accuracy.
- Enhance SPC Systems: Develop and enhance SPC systems, including SPC control, process capability (CPK), and audit procedures to improve manufacturing consistency.
- Data Analysis & Statistical Methods Development: Use statistical analysis and data-driven methods to identify trends, resolve issues, and improve processes.
- Collaborate with Teams: Engage with internal and external partners to foster effective communication and achieve project goals.
- Problem Solving: Analyze and resolve complex issues using sound judgment and systematic, data-driven approaches.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
Education:
- Master’s degree or higher in Material Engineering, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.
Technical Skills:
- At least 3 years of professional experience, preferably in the semiconductor industry.
- Proficiency with metrology tools such as OCD, CDSEM, and inspection tools.
- Knowledge of SPC procedures, statistical evaluation techniques, and programs.
- Experience with Machine Learning and programming languages such as JMP, R, RPA, PowerBI or Python is a plus.
- Expertise in the Design of Experiments (DOE) method for process optimization.

- No significant physical requirements beyond standard office and manufacturing environments.
Candidates must be willing and able to work on-site at our Phoenix Arizona facility.
