Interim Corporate Counsel – Maternity Leave Cover

Job Description and Requirements

Synopsys, a global multinational company within the software industry is looking to recruit an Interim Corporate Counsel to its European legal function based in Dublin.  Remote working will be considered.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to:

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts for EMEA;
• Ensure that all relevant legislation is complied with, all legal and contractual implications are clear and complete, and that the company and its products are fully protected;
• Provide legal advice on a large number of commercial issues in a busy environment;
• Proactively liaise with staff across other departments to ensure that any queries they have are answered or redirected appropriately;
• Ensure that the contracting process generates positive client experience and goodwill that can be used as the foundation for long-term, collaborative relationships.

Skills/Experience

• An Irish/EU/US qualified lawyer or equivalent;
• Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, with the ability to use language confidently to achieve compromise;
• Process-oriented and proactive approach to contract drafting and negotiation;
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to bring complex matters to closure;
• Good judgment, flexibility, enthusiasm and willingness to learn;
• Positive “can-do” attitude.
