Description

Codasip was founded on a simple belief – that we could bring together the brilliance of microprocessor architects and software engineers and capture it in tools that made design simpler, faster, and less expensive. STUDIO was born in 2014 with the mission of democratizing processor design. We are succeeding. At the same time RISC-V was gaining traction, so it was natural for Codasip to embrace it as an Open Instruction Set Architecture (ISA).

THE ROLE

We’re looking for an Implementation Engineer to focus on our back end analysis strategy and work with third parties to help deliver it. You’ll create an overall process for implementation and design a set of methodologies to achieve strong PPA targets, as well as set benchmarking goals with the Design team.

You’ll be working with the whole IP team, as well as our Field Application Engineers and Product Marketing team to provide them with data about our cores which will enable us to position ourselves against our competitors.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing company with a unique position in the industry. If you are proactive, you are not afraid to voice your own opinion, and are looking for a job where you can be creative, we think you will work well with us.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Do the tapeout flow from physical synthesis to the production signOff level, including data generation for reference designs using our IP cores and selected advanced technology nodes.
  • Write and maintain design scripts and support continuous delivery methods and script automation used by our IP design teams.
  • Optimize our high performance cores for a speed at optimal power consumption on an implementation level and provide feedback to our IP core architects as part of the design process.
  • Optimize our embedded cores for area and low power consumption on an implementation level and provide feedback to our IP core architects as part of the design process.
  • Improve and maintain the back end analysis strategy for Codasip and work alongside third parties to drive our plans forward
  • Improve and maintain methodologies to optimize PPA and timing from an implementation perspective
  • Liaise regularly with our FAEs and Product Marketing team to share data around our design performance
  • Help our FAEs to provide expert level support for IP integration in advanced customer’s projects
  • Support the growth of the Implementation team across our European design centres

Requirements

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Deep understanding of physical design and implementation techniques and best practice methodologies in advanced technology nodes
  • Experience using leading EDA tools for physical synthesis including DFT, place & route and sign-off timing/power analysis
  • Experience in implementation of pipelined designs optimized for high speed
  • Solid knowledge of low-power techniques and their applications
  • Knowledge of computer architecture or processors and PPA analysis experience
  • Scripting skills using TCL, Shell and Python
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within an international team

Benefits

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?

    • Opportunity to influence the growth of the team and to be an important part of Codasip family doing leading RISC-V IP cores.
    • Working on broad spectrum of IPs starting from embedded IoT cores up to high performance multicore processors using advanced technology nodes and libraries.
    • Participation in the whole development process from analysis to deployment
    • Opportunity to collaborate with experienced developers located in Germany, France, UK, Greece and Czech Republic
    • Receptivity to your own innovations and ideas
    • Freedom and trust from Codasip management
    • Flexible working hours, including working from home
    • Very competitive compensation package

Please note this position can be based in either our Villeneuve-Loubet/Sophia Antipolis (French) office, Munich (Germany) office, or UK Design Centres (Cambridge or Bristol). It is a hybrid role where we will need somebody to be in the office a few days per week, with flexible work from home options.
