Cadence is a leading provider of system design tools, software, IP, and services.  We take pride in our collaborative and high-performance culture, and we are looking for a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Specialist. This person will join our team as an essential member of Cadence’s ESG program and will support reporting and policies in this area.

This position is ideal for someone with experience and passion in environmental sustainability efforts for Corporate Social Responsibility programs, and who is detail-oriented, collaborative, and enthusiastic about learning.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Function as technical lead on greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting for Cadence global operations (Scopes 1 and 2) and Supply Chain (Scope 3), including managing data collection and quantification.
  • Work with partners in procurement, operations, and facilities to collect, translate, review, and analyze data for GHG reporting. Present results and trend analysis on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Provide technical training on GHG reporting requirements, data collection processes such as templates and software, and work with global operations to ensure accurate data collection and reporting.
  • Develop and document procedures for GHG data collection, storage, and reporting that supports both internal and external audit requirements.
  • Support key climate disclosures such as CDP and TCFD.
  • Conduct benchmarking and research on sustainability trends.
  • Contribute toward internal and external sustainability goal setting.
  • Draft and revise presentations, reports, policies, and other related documents as requested to support Cadence’s Corporate Social Responsibility program.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, environmental, engineering, or relevant discipline
  • 2-4 years of practical experience with GHG inventory measurement and the GHG Protocol, hands-on application in calculating GHG inventory and preparation of supporting material for third-party GHG inventory verification
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Superior organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to review work for accuracy
  • Ability to manage own time and schedule to get work done to meet milestones and reporting needs
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and possess a positive attitude in working with others as a team

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with ESG/sustainability reporting standards including GRI, SASB, and TCFD
  • Familiarity with financial accounting and risk assessments
  • Experience with Corporate Social Responsibility and compliance programs
  • Prior work with technology companies

The annual salary range for California is $80,500 to $149,500. You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the salary range is a guideline and compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
