As a Fire/Life Safety Systems & Service Technician, you will:

  • Assist with the commissioning of new fire and life safety systems on construction ensuring seamless integration
  • Assist with testing and inspecting of existing fire and life safety systems
  • Plan work with mentor, Lead Technician, and Team Leader
  • Complete commissioning within planned timelines
  • Submit accurate time and expense logs
  • Work overtime when needed
  • Execute comprehensive testing and inspections for systems under maintenance agreements 
  • Swiftly respond to, troubleshoot, and complete necessary repairs to maintain system functionality
  • Report on activities completed, deferred, or requiring further action or material
  • Identify code and non-conformance issues, ensuring adherence to required standards
  • Work alongside mentors, Lead Technicians, and Supervisors to strategize tasks effectively

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Proven electro-mechanical aptitude (based on previous experience and/or education) and user PC/software skill; proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Understanding of network components and workstation and server operating system management
  • Be able to work in a variety of environments in and around electronic equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment,working in ducts, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet; differentiate types/colors of wire, carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 poundsunassisted
  • Must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 1 within 18 months
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship 
  • Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license with limited violations 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred
  • 6+ months experience installing commercial fire/life safety equipment 
  • NICET II Fire Alarm or FA2 preferred
  • Ability to read/understand design and construction documents

  • The pay range for this position is $40,880 – $70,080. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
