Job Description

To join our team in the Keysight Global Services Organization (KGSO) based in Braunschweig, Germany, we are seeking a dedicated Resident Service Engineer to provide on-site support services to Keysight’s Power Portfolio Solutions customers in the Automotive sector Electromobility is responsible.

The Resident Service Engineer will work in a rapidly growing industry sector, with responsibility for providing on-site support services to a key Keysight Battery Test Solution customer; with a focus on support services for battery cell, module, pack and EVSE test equipment. This position will be based at the customer’s location. Support services are defined as installation, decommissioning, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, calibration, repair, training, and spare parts and escalation management related to the hardware and software solutions. 

Tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage and implement preventive maintenance (PM) and calibration plans (onsite or return to Keysight) in collaboration with the customer’s calibration and maintenance team and test plans.
  • Third Party Coordination.
  • Installation of hardware and software/firmware upgrades and service notes.
  • Perform on-site troubleshooting and repairs to customer equipment in a timely, thorough and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage difficult repair situations and escalations.
  • Carrying out customer training.
  • Determine and develop concepts for the diverse tasks associated with this position.
  • Lead field service and support projects that require coordination with other functions, customers and suppliers.
  • Solve a wide range of system problems of varying scope and complexity affecting hardware, software, networks, applications and facilities.
  • Support sales teams as required; proactively look for growth opportunities to increase sales.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Successfully completed studies specializing in electronics or electrical engineering, engineering technology or a comparable course of study.
  • Fluent in German and English.
  • Valid driving license with a clean driving record.

He wishes:

  • Knowledge of battery testing technologies and solutions would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of electrical, electronic and electromechanical troubleshooting techniques and skills, with an emphasis on power electronics, high voltage/power systems and safety.
  • Previous experience with on-site commissioning and/or service delivery is desirable.
  • Good knowledge of MS Windows OS, Linux and networks.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a logical manner.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work goal-oriented and independently.
  • Ability to make decisions that positively impact the reliability of customer systems.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in stressful, mission-critical situations.
  • Flexible working hours depending on service requirements.
  • Skilled in the use of tools, systems and procedures to complete the work.
