Engineering Manager – Productivity Platforms & Tools

Job Description and Requirements

Synopsys seeking a passionate and driven Engineering Manager to lead the development of a platform that runs tools created for developer productivity. As a manager, you will provide leadership and direction for development teams. You will work closely with senior leadership, technical architects, and product managers to develop and shape the product roadmap and strategic team goals.

Responsibilities:

• Identify, develop, and drive investments to improve the velocity and quality of our engineering systems
• Interface and communicate regularly with senior management and technical architects.
• Collaborate with technical leads and product managers on prioritization and roadmap plans.
• Work cross-functionally to prioritize work items, track progress, and deliver on commitments.
• Prioritize tasks, lead the release and sprint planning efforts.
• Express interest and be a hands-on contributor during the entire development cycle, from conception and design through release.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, advanced degree preferred.
• Passionate about building tools that makes developer productive
• 10+ years of work experience in a software company in the domain of distributed systems, data infrastructure, data analytics, AI/ML platforms, public cloud platforms etc.
• 5+ years of leadership/experience managing highly technical teams.
• Extensive software design and architecture skills, preferably in large-scale distributed systems.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment with a willingness to dive deep and get things done.
• Demonstrated experience in project management and tools such as Jira, Kanban, etc.
• High level of expertise in agile software development and exhibited end-to-end ownership of projects.
• Stellar listening and explanation skills.
• Good programming skills in Java, C++, C# and/or Python.
• A disciplined approach to software testing and quality assurance.

The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is between $117,000 to $204,000. In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses.
