Data Center Architect

Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Center Architect to design and plan the physical infrastructure and technical architecture of our data center

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Design and plan the physical infrastructure including the physical layout of the data center, the placement of equipment, cabling, and other infrastructure components such as power & cooling requirements, space utilization, and accessibility
• Develop and implement best practices for modular data center design
• Develop and maintain standards and procedures for data center operations, including monitoring, maintenance, and performance tuning
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the data center meets the organization’s needs for capacity, performance, security, and reliability
• Analyze usage patterns, growth projections, and other factors to determine appropriate capacity levels for the data center
• Design and implement disaster recovery plans and procedures to ensure business continuity in the event of a disaster or other disruptive event
• Provide technical guidance and support to data center operations teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, or a related field
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in data center design and architecture
• In-depth knowledge of data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, virtualization, and security
• Strong understanding of data center facility design including the physical layout of the data center, the placement of equipment, cabling, power and cooling requirements, space utilization, and accessibility
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with modular data center solutions based on Open Compute Platform (OCP) standards
• Knowledge of relevant data center tier certification such as Uptime Institute
• Experience of data center infrastructure for power efficiency optimization
