Job Overview:

As a Graduate Applications Engineer in the Architecture & Open Source group, you will join a rapidly growing and highly motivated team responsible for supporting Arm’s partners in applying Arm intellectual property and software technologies in their latest pioneering projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Resolving issues and acting as trusted adviser to answer deeply technical inquiries
  • Delivering world-class technical training, whether by virtual classroom or travelling off-site to visit customers in person
  • Producing excellent technical enablement content for the Arm Developer website and training portal
  • Bridging the gap between Arm’s customers and internal engineering teams, providing detailed feedback and customer insights to improve our products and ensure we are best enabling customer success

Required Skills and Experience :

Good university degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent; other fields with applicable experience will also be considered.

  • We are seeking an understanding of computer architecture, ideally the Arm architecture
  • Knowledge of embedded SoC hardware components, system design, and software interfaces
  • Experience with FPGA image design, implementation, and execution
  • Know of assembly language programming, preferably an Arm instruction set
  • We look for experience of platform boot/bring-up and low-level JTAG debug
  • Familiarity with software tools including IDEs, compilers, and debuggers

  • Your strong interpersonal and communication skills are vital for success; we are looking for excellent written and spoken English
  • We seek passion and flexibility in putting customers first; you are hardworking with a real passion for enabling others to succeed
  • Can demonstrate an ability to handle challenging priorities and work with peers in a global team spanning many

“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience :

  • Experience with standard firmware implementations e.g. Trusted Firmware, U-Boot – alternatively, experience developing proprietary embedded firmware solutions
  • Experience with real-time/embedded operating systems e.g. FreeRTOS, Zephyr, RTLinux – alternatively, experience developing proprietary embedded/real-time operating systems, or experience working with Linux/Android
  • Experience with boot-time drivers e.g. SATA, Ethernet, USB, Flash
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive view of system-level software architecture
  • Experience of technical training material development and delivery will be an advantage
  • Offer experience of customer-facing engineering or development of embedded software, firmware, and device drivers
